I finally have the kitchen of my dreams!. We've been in our house for approximately 16 years, and have enjoyed living in this house as is. However, one of the spots I've always wanted to remodel was our kitchen. It served us well, but I always felt it could function and look better. I'd always tell my husband about what I would do to the kitchen, and he would always tell me: "Keep dreaming". Well, let me tell you dreams really come true, so here are the before and after pictures, enjoy. I won't go into specifics about our budget, or sources, but if anybody has a question about anything, I'll answer happily.
The kitchen looks bigger because we raised the ceiling, and removed opened the kitchen to the dining room. When people first see it, they always say it looks beautiful and how spacious it feels. We certainly are enjoying our new kitchen! Rosa
Every Fall, my kids, especially the youngest one, look forward to the leaves falling. I personally don't mind our front covered in a carpet of multicolored leaves. I think it's a waste of time raking leaves as soon as they start falling. You're done raking, you turn around and the ground is covered again. So we wait well into the Fall season to start raking the leaves. A few days ago, I asked my husband to rake the leaves into a huge, tall pile; this way when the kids got home from school, they could jump in, and I could take some pictures.
Sometimes, it's the simplest things that bring the most joy! Rosa
Even though it was an overcast day, with a chance of rain in the forecast, Mother Nature was good to us this year. It was great going out Trick-or-Treating on the actual day, as oppose to the last two years, with the crazy storms. The kids had their parade at school; and when school let out it was time to go and collect some candy!
I wrapped milk chocolate candy bars in crepe paper to make them look like mummies for my son's classmates
For one of the teachers, I made a ghost in a jar out of a small foam ball and cheesecloth. I have to make one for us, it's the cutest ghost ever!
I dressed up my little guy to look like a bandit. All I bought were things he can use every day: black top, pants, hat, gloves and sneakers. I made the loot bag with a white canvas bag I picked up at AC Moore. I printed a dollar symbol using a font from the computer, and used freezer paper to create the stencil. I used black fabric paint. I stuffed the bag with white tissue paper, it turned out super cute!. I also made the bandit mask out of black felt.
For the oldest daughter, she wanted to be The Invisible Girl from the Fantastic Four. I bought a blue morph suit and my mom altered by sewing other different color fabrics to it. She looked "fantastic" no pun intended!
Trick-or -Treat time:
We were out for a few hours, the kids had enough candy to last them a few days. It was a great day! Rosa
Every year we look forward to our pumpkin carving party, however, this year we had to keep it very small and simple due to our kitchen remodel ( I'll be posting pictures as soon as it's completely done), I just did not have time to plan our pumpkin carving feast. It was fun, nonetheless!
This year we let the kids make their own designs right on the pumpkins, they did a phenomenal job. Now I just have to figure out how to keep the squirrels away!
I am married to my High School sweetheart for 21 years. We have three beautiful children who constantly test our patience.
I'm always decorating and redecorating our home. I love to craft
and scrapbook. So, when I'm not busy with family matters, you'll find me with a paintbrush, glitter on my face or glue on my fingers!
Welcome to my blog, and enjoy
