I'm always looking for ways to freshen up the look in our home. Thank goodness I'm married to a man that allows me to do pretty much whatever I want to. I ask for his input, of course!. I've been toiling with the idea of redecorating for a while, I went to Lowe's, and to Home Depot, and to Sherwin Williams, to get paint chips. I went back and forth between
aqua and
neutral (beige). At this point, since our children are still pretty young, I felt
aqua would be a bit more playful to decorate with. I want our house to feel inviting and fun, and I love cottage style decorating, so it felt right. I'm still not done, but I'm loving how it's turning out.
A couple of
before pictures:
During:
I used Valspar "Aqua Glow" and "Betsy's Linen" for the stripes.
After:
I copied the picture ledge from
suburbsmama As soon as I saw hers, I knew it would work for us. This will allow me to change things with the different holidays and seasons.
The green is Lemon Mint (Olympic). The paints' sheen are satin. I bought them at Lowe's.
I hope you like what I've done so far, I want to find a nice fabric for the window treatments, and for the dining room chairs. I'll post pictures again when I do so.
Thanks for visiting, and have fun in your homes!
Rosa
