APPLE PICKING 2013

It's apple picking time, the weather is just perfect: not too hot, not too cold. We went to the apple orchard we go to every year. We went early, it was great as there were not too many people. So we drove up the hill as far as we could go. We love looking down, it's breathtaking!
The kids couldn't climb enough trees!. They picked a lot of apples, ate some, even played with them.

And yes, I know it's obvious we're apple picking, but I needed a banner anyway!. I put this one together really quickly by cutting the letters freehand just before we left our house. I just had to!

I have this collection of group pictures with different banners in jars, I love looking at them. One of these day I'll take a picture of them and show them to you.

This was also my mom's first time going apple picking. She really liked it!

Then it was time to go down to the farm stand area, the kiddies wanted to ride on the ponies and horses.
We took our yearly pumpkin patch photo. This year, the kids went inside the haunted house.
We bought delicious apple pies, apple cider doughnuts, and cider.

As always, it's good to go out and do something even if it's only once a year. It's a tradition we look forward to.

BACK TO SCHOOL BREAKFAST- 2013

For the last 3 years, the day before the kids go back to school, we either have a breakfast or lunch for them. Hopefully this relaxes their nerves and puts them in the right frame of mind to start the new school year.
I look everywhere for  crafts and free printables, for our party decor. This year everything turned out so cute, and it was a great deal of fun for all!
They were greeted by a fabulous ruler wreath, the welcome banner is a free printable from TheCottageMarket.

I took a picture of all the kids holding a free grade printable from
DesignsByNicolina

I also took a group picture with another free printable from WhimsicallyDetailed.

I fell in love with these printables from TatertotsandJello by DimplePrints.

Breakfast consisted of assorted mini bagels, mini muffins, waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, bread and several drinks. It was simple but good

When I saw this pencil gumball machine, right away I knew I'd make one for the party. Instead of stickers, I painted the no. 2 with acrylic paint, and used a font from my computer. I love this so much!

For favors, I printed different bag toppers and placed different items in cellophane bags. We wrote the different items on pieces of paper, each kid picked one piece, and whatever they picked that's what they got. They were happy!

And I placed school printables in frames, and also decorated our shelf with school related items.

BACK TO SCHOOL 2013

It's back to school around these parts, some of us (adults) are happy, some (children) not so much. I'll admit though, I love the carefree days of Summer vacation. School started later this year, due to the Jewish holidays, so we got to enjoy our vacation a bit longer.
So here they are, on their very first day of school:

First day of school printables are from Digital Mom Blog
We also had a Back to School Breakfast, I'll post about it next time.

Thanks for visiting,
