Fall Activity: Pumpkin Carving Party

We held our pumpkin carving party this past Saturday. We "lucked out" this year due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Sandy. So we had our little feast under cloudy skies, but it was very comfortable temperature-wise.

Let the carving begin:

I made these cake pops:

Toilet paper mummies, a favorite with the kids:

Fall Activity: Picking Pumpkins At The Pumpkin Patch

So many pumpkins, so little time!. This is another of our favorite things to do: picking just the right pumpkins to carve.

At this patch they also have a few cut-outs, the kids love putting their faces through the openings. I love taking their pictures.

Next up, the pumpkin carving party. Till next time.

Fall Activity: Decorating The Nest

Skercrowie welcomes  visitors into our house. He's such a friendly fellow!

Once inside you're greeted by these...

I'm actually quite afraid of mice, but these (the big ones) from The Dollar Tree, (the small ones) from Party City, are very cute. I love how they look!.

The bats are made from black felt. I had these on the outside of the house last year. They kept falling off the siding, so this year they've migrated indoors.

The banner is made with photos of the kids in previous years costumes

The masked girls prints are from The Black Apple

I made this banner about 3 years ago

There you have it, I hope you like it!

Happy Fall!

Fall Activity: Apple Picking

Once again we went to Masker Orchards in Warwick, NY. I love going apple picking with the kids. They, on the other hand, start complaining and whining, that is until we get there!. They do love picking apples and, eating some along the way. They chase each other; climb on the trees. We take our annual photo. Pick some more apples!. Play with apples. Apples, apples, so many apples!. Then we proceed to the country store area. We love their apple pies. And this year we also bought apple cider doughnuts (these are really good). Maybe we should take another ride there, just for those doughnuts!.
We also visit their pumpkin patch, just to take a picture of the kids. Every year their poses amuse me so much.

Last year I made the apples banner

I got this apple container @ The Container Store

We had a great time at the orchard!

Now I need to go find a recipe for cinnamon apples.

Until next time,

Rosa
